BIFAN’s international feature competition section introduces films that demonstrate new worldviews beyond common sense, original styles and advances in experimentation and genre grammar. Among the films submitted by newcomer genre filmmakers from all around the world, a total of 8 films have been selected to compete for a total of 4 awards this year. From body horror to retro sci-fi, and from Eurospy thrillers to coming-of-age fantasies, this year offers a more diverse celebration of genre imagination than ever before. Audiences can enjoy a rich feast of genres, ranging from horror with distinctive sensibilities to action thrillers packed with spectacle.
