Imagine placing the world of Blade Runner atop the old Cheonggyecheon Sewoon Arcade. Here, the recent past (popular culture of the 80s and 90s, and the PC communication and internet culture of the late 90s to early 2000s) intertwines with the near future (metaverse and technocracy). In this world, security is only about the safety of the social system, not the safety of individuals. The struggle to survive seems to converge with our contemporary reality. (NAH Ho-won)
