Program Note

A father witnesses his daughter’s death in a terrorist attack. Unable to escape the grief of losing her, he resolves to seek revenge. What is fresh in Resolution is how the father is portrayed as literally trapped within his daughter’s camcorder. The contrast between the protagonist and other characters feels like a daring attempt, which could only be shown in a short film. (Kristin JI)

Ricardo FERNÁNDEZ JIMÉNEZ

Ricardo is a Colombian filmmaker based in Canada. He specializes in science fiction and psychological thriller films. His films explore the relationship between cinema, perception, and memory. He is one of the founders of Filmigrana, a Colombian production company specializing in genre films. Resolution is his third short film after Limbic (2015) and Synchronous (2017).
