Synopsis

In the early days of the Mexican Revolution, a girl called Isabella, who calls herself Captain Blackbeard, senses that her family will soon be in danger. She leaves for the forest to seek out reinforcements to help protect her family, but no-one can avoid the fear of war. Captain Blackbeard sensitively depicts the horror of the ruthless internalattle from a young girl’s point of view.

Mateo GRANILLO

Mateo Granillo is a mexican filmmaker. He studied Film Direction at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica A.C. (CCC) where he graduated with honorific mention. His first short film, Necropolis, They Will Be Ashes But Still Will Feel(2016), was selected in several film festivals around the globe. Following Captain Blackbeard(2020), he is now working in post production of a documentary What Is Time?
