Program Note

In 1880, a strange man appears in front of the house where three sisters live in a desolate field in Minnesota, USA. Ingrid, the eldest sister, invites the man, who identifies himself as a doctor, to treat her dying youngest sister, but the second one, a devout Christian, strongly opposes this. With the interesting atmosphere of 19th century Minnesota, the film features religious metaphors and supernatural mysteries, further adding to the horror.
