Program Note

A classic kung-fu movie has its dialogue altered to reflect the battle between proletariats and the bureaucracy, with the proletariats using discourse and bureaucrats using a mixture of violence and assimilation. A humorous look at a serious subject.

Program Note

The Hong Kong movie Crush was re-worked into a political film by re-recording it in French, but the original film was the Korean action movie, The Right Way. This unique conversion in Korean film was highlighted by Film Critic Yu Un-seong, showing the prevalence for co-production in the 1970s between Korea and Hong Kong and fake Korea-and Hong Kong-made films. Can Dialectics Break Bricks? is typical Situationist cinema.
