Program Note

Sebastian is immersed in a life of petty crime in Lima, Peru. Seeking tenderness in Jaen’s younger sister Emilia, he dreams and plans for their escape but soon becomes unable to distinguish between reality and fiction and he must choose between his fantasy or the fate that has been written for him.

Director

Adrian SABA

Born in 1988, Peru, Adrian Saba studied film at Hofstra University. His debut film, The Cleaner (2012), premiered at San Sebastian Film Festival’s ‘New Directors’ competition section. Saba developed his second feature, The Dreamer at The Residence of La Cinefondation de Cannes and it premiered at Berlin Film Festival’s Generation section.
