Program Note
Victor, a visually impaired man from Kerala's prestigious Adattu family, witnesses the murder of his friend Wasim. The killer is Russell, a member of the powerful gold-smuggling Isaac clan. To cover his tracks, Russell ultimately kills Victor as well. George, Victor's elder brother and the head of the family, begins investigating the truth, while Marco, Victor's adopted brother living abroad, returns home, vowing revenge. Despite George's attempts to stop him, Marco is determined to deliver bloody justice to those responsible for Victor's death. What begins as a personal vendetta evolves into an unrelenting tale of vengeance driven by the raw pain of losing a beloved family member. The film escalates far beyond a typical revenge narrative—its emotional intensity is matched by increasingly brutal violence. From bare-knuckle brawls to savage torture and weapon-fueled combat, the action sequences grow more extreme in step with Marco's rage. So intense is the violence that the film sparked controversy upon release, delivering not just visual brutality but deep psychological impact. Prepare yourself for a revenge thriller soaked in blood and fury. (Martin LEE)
