Synopsis

Since 1996 when it was first conceived, has been a much-talked about animation project. Considering the time and effort of numerous staff who worked on the film for such a long time, hoping that it would help to revive Korean animation, is one of the most anticipated films at PiFan this year. Earth in 2142 A.C. After the energy war wiped out most of humanity, the survivors built a city named Ecoban. The story begins with Marr, the place for those who were not chosen for Ecoban, as the background. A hundred years after the founding of Ecoban, someone has invaded the heart of the city. Jay, a patrol guard, finds out the invader is none other than Suha, her first love. Reuniting with her first love, whom she thought had died, as an enemy throws Jay into confusion. Simon, captain of patrol guard, tries to eliminate Suha when finding out what he means to Jay, who Simon loves. , which is about the budding of hope amidst ruins, demonstrates with vivid visuals such concepts like ‘artificial,’ ‘ruins,’ and ‘hope.’ The three images - neverending road leading to the ?rtificial?space, ?uins?that seemed immersed in the water, the brilliantly glaring blue sky symbolizing ?ope? will be ingrained in the minds of the audience. has paved a new path technically. So-called ‘multi-mation,’attempted for the very first time in the world, shows excellence of perfection. 2D was used for the detailed facial expressions, Mechanic and 3D for speed and three-dimensional effect, and miniatures were used for the main settings and buildings to be used later for graphic synthesis, enhancing the realistic effect and depth. The exhibition hall full of masterpieces of fine art, the original score that flows throughout the film, and the depiction of the festivities all contribute in creating the peculiar mood that prevails in . Would it be unreasonable to say that it fell short on the composition of the characters, their mode of behavior, and the story? Kim Moon-saeng

Graduated from Hong-ik University with a degree of B. A. at Visual Arts and M. A. at Industrial Arts, Kim Moon-saeng has directed many commercial animation films. He has not only made traditional animation films, but also films of synthesis between animation and miniature, and between 2D and 3D. He won the Creativity World Award, Korean Commercial Films Grand Prize, and SICAF award. In 1998, he also made commercial films in Hong Kong. <BR>< Wonderful Days > is his first feature-length animation.
