Synopsis

Bloody Shake is an omnibus movie that contains several different movies within it. Developmentally-arrested Uncle (KUM Dong Hyeon), blind florist Su Gyeong (JEON Hye Jin), her constant admirer and pickpocket Chan Wu (SEONG Hyuk), a Gentleman working at a printing office (KIM Do Yong), Ji Ni from the butcher’s shop (PARK Jin Hee), the damaged Ru Pi (PARK Seon Ae), and worn-out office worker Man Ho (JANG Seong Won). These seven characters give expression to their unique loneliness in five episodic tales. And they are not fleeting acquaintances; their lives are connected by overlapping bonds of fate. As their relationships are disclosed, the movie switches gears freely from sweet melodrama to hideous horror, from thriller to fantasy. In the midst of such unpredictable change, the characters’ isolation, self-hatred, and internal universes unfold. By serving as both director and producer, KIM Ji Yong shot this movie with a low budget of around 500,000 USD despite using numerous sets and special effects. (LEE Hwa Jeong)
