Three men gathered in an interrogation room ¡ª a serial killer who has murdered four by crushing their bones, a reporter who wants to interview him, and the guard. While the guard is answering his cell phone outside the room, the killer breaks the arrogant reporter"s bones one by one. Though centering around an utterly amoral killer, this film is closer to an expose of human vice than to a thriller. The three men forming a food chain of their own, with the killer "punishing" the reporter, the guard ruling over the criminal, and the reporter taunting the guard for being an old loser, their relationships shift back and forth as dictated by the opportunistic human nature. The evilness of humanity, the sudden shift of attitudes before power, is why the killer crushes bones. (The sound turns him on.) Using a confined space and a limited number of characters, the director handles tension creation and reversal with incredible finesse. (JANG Byung Won)
