The 22nd BIFAN Confirms
Actors CHOI Minho and LIM Jiyeon
as Opening Ceremony Hosts!

 

The 22nd Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (Festival Director: CHOI Yongbae, hereafter BIFAN) has selected actors CHOI Minho and LIM Jiyeon to be the hosts for this year's opening ceremony, which will take place on July 12th (Thu.).

After making his debut with the boy group ‘SHINee’, CHOI Minho expanded his career into acting by starring in TV dramas To The Beautiful You (2012), Hwarang (2016), and The Most Beautiful Goodbye (2017). After steadily working as an actor, he made his big screen debut with the film Canola (2016) and broadened his acting spectrum by transforming his image to play a runaway teenager in Derailed (2016). Audiences will get a chance to see CHOI Minho on the big screen once again on July 25th when one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year, ILLANG: THE WOLF BRIGADE (2018), opens in theaters.

Actress LIM Jiyeon found herself in the spotlight as soon as she debuted due to her enthusiastic performance in the film Obsessed, for which she received the award for Best New Actress at the 51st DAEJONG Film Awards, the 23rd Buil Film Awards, and the 34th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards. After playing a variety of characters in films such as The Treacherous (2015) and LUCK-KEY (2016), LIM Jiyeon broadened her boundaries and expanded into television where she received a great deal of love and support from the public for her emotional performances in TV dramas such as High Society (2015) and Blow Breeze (2017).

The opening ceremony for the 22nd BIFAN, hosted by CHOI Minho and LIM Jiyeon, will be held on July 12th (Thu.) at 8:00 p.m. at Bucheon City Hall Lawn Square. After the declaration of the official opening of the festival by Chairman of the Organizing Committee CHUNG Ji-young and Mayor of Bucheon JANG Deog-cheon, an introduction of the festival judges and special programs, along with a live performance for the opening ceremony all promise to create an unforgettable summer night in Bucheon for all those in attendance. The screening of this year's opening film, Underdog, will wrap up the opening ceremony for the 22nd BIFAN.
