Program Note

Jacob, a young man has a rare skin disorder that prevents him from being exposed to sunlight. He meets Mary, a bartender, and falls in love. Forced by the disease to drink human blood for sustenance, he must control his increasingly violent tendencies as law enforcement narrow their focus on him as a suspect in a series of grisly murders.

Director

Scott LEBERECHT

Born in Ohio. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning in 1994. At age 24, Scott joined George Lucas" Industrial Light & Magic Art Department. When promoted to the position of Art Director, Scott created the visual effects for Walt Disney"s 101 DALMATIONS, FLUBBER, New Line Cinema"s SPAWN, Warner Bros." THE GREEN MILE, ERASER, and Tim Burton"s THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW. In 2003, Scott earned his Master"s Degree in Directing from the American Film Institute. He wrote and directed six short films including UNDERDOG and NATURAL SELECTION became official selections at major film festivals, winning several awards. Midnight Son is his debut feature.
