Synopsis

This film comprises two shorts, Our Universe and Today Of Tomorrow, both with AI as their subject. In Today Of Tomorrow, elderly Heejin logs into uploaded Seonwoo’s mind every day, but Seonwoo doesn’t remember her in the cyberworld. This means Heejin has to repeat saying hello to him every time she logs in. Getting sick of this, she then notices a change. Our Universe unfolds an imaginary story about Kim Hyung-suk, a real-life composer. The lead character, Sori, is Kim’s daughter. While she is exploring space, she receives news of her estranged father’s death and is also told a virtual online funeral will organize a video chat with her late father. However, Sori hesitates to speak to him. Both films explore memory, relationship and love, by expanding the narratives through trivial elements within a calm atmosphere. It is a Sci-fi film that focuses on plain impressions of human feelings rather than the subject matter, AI. (Rhana JANG)
