A crane driver quits his job, and no-one wants to take the job on. Then, Mohammad volunteers to operate Lebanon’s most dangerous cranes, risking his life for his secret passion. The director beautifully channels Mohammad’s desperation into this dazzling fantasy, showing that there’s no religion, gender, or occupation that can force anyone to give up their desires. Dania BDEIR
Dania Bdeir is a Lebanese award-winning writer & director. She’s a member of the Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective, has a BA in Graphic Design from the American University of Beirut, and an MFA in directing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. In 2019, Dania was selected as a Berlinale Talent and participated in its Short Film Station with Warsha. Dania is currently based in Dubai and is developing her first feature film Pigeon Wars.
