Program Note

Hye-jeong works in a factory on the outskirts of the city. All she wants is to live alone in peace. One night, however, she finds she has become a ghost. As a ghost, she goes back in time, day by day, and tries to keep out of harm’s way.

Program Note

Hye-jung, who works in a factory in a small town, is going to be completely alone. She cuts the bondage with her family and ignores the confession of a man in love for her. For the more, she doesn’t give a hand to a girl who shouts “help” in a narrow alley. That is the way she protects herself from the society, which binds individuals under the name of money, people and dream. She runs out the time of her life in a sudden. When she opens her eyes, she becomes unconscious by an accident and haunts around. The time of the ghost goes backward. Hye-jung then looks at what is going around her, backward from day to day. Hye-jung witnesses the dreary sight of a city where lonely people like her are driven to the brink of death. Perhaps she could have changed something there, but the terrible results occurs because she turned a blind eye to all the opportunities. Through the time of dying to being a ghost, Hyejeong realizes what she is missing. The direction, which takes us seriously into the reality of our society through fantasy, and the calm and lyrical atmosphere are quite unique. (Rhana JANG)
