Program Note
Gloria is asked to protect Philip, a young boy who lives next to her. His family is killed and Gloria has no choice but to take care of him. Philip has a book that the mobs want, resulting in a chase.

He was born in New York City in 1929. His alma mater is the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In his early career, he was well known for his method acting that is similar with Marlon Brando. Evaluated as one of the crucial film in the 1960s USA, he received the Italian Film Critics Award at 1930 Venice Film Festival for Shadows (1959).
