Program Note
A remake of a 1960 Korean classic film of the same title. Hoon (LEE Jungjae) seduces his housemaid (JEON Do-Yeon), leading to her becoming pregnant. When she is forced to eliminate the pregnancy, she decides to avenge the death of her baby. This film was selected for the competition section at Cannes.

IM Sang-soo
Im Sang-soo was born in 1962 in Seoul, and he graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Sociology. His film, Good Lawyer’s Wife (2003), was selected in the competition section of the 2003 Venice Film Festival. He garnered attention for his depiction of a harsh point-of-view on Korean society.
