Synopsis

Timm Thyler is poor, but he laughs a lot and he looks so charming. One day, the world’s richest man makes the boy a dubious offer: if Timm agrees to sell him his laugh, he’ll win every bet he ever makes in the future.

Andreas DRESEN

Born in Germany, 1963, his films including Grill Point (2002), Cloud 9 (2008) and Stopped on Track (2011) have received numerous awards. Dresen’s work has centered on improvisation and the use of the hand-held camera, imparting a remarkable realism to many of his films.
