Program Note

ISHII Katsuhito

Born in 1966, Ishii Katsuhito made a short film The Promise of August (1996) which won the Grand Prix at Yubari. He made a feature debut with Sharkskin Man and Peach Hip Girl (1999). Ishii also directed the animated sequences for Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Vol. 1(2003). His films include The Taste of Tea and Naisu No Mori (2005).
