Program Note

The Haruno family reside in a small countryside. Mother is working feverishly, father is a hypnosis therapist, and son is a vat of raging hormones. Daughter Sachiko tries to escape her imaginary giant twin, which pops up everywhere.(8th edition, winner of Jury’s Choice)

Director

ISHII Katsuhito

Born in 1966, Ishii Katsuhito made a short film The Promise of August (1996) which won the Grand Prix at Yubari. He made a feature debut with Sharkskin Man and Peach Hip Girl (1999). Ishii also directed the animated sequences for Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Vol. 1(2003). His films include The Taste of Tea and Naisu No Mori (2005).
