Born in 1963 in Mumbai, Bansail graduated from Film and Television Institute of India. As a Director, producer, screenwriter, and music composer of India, his filmography includes Khamoshi: The Musical (1996), Devdas (2002), and Bajirao Mastani which won the National Award for Best Direction.
