Program Note

Partners in crime Ken and Kazu sell drugs and make money, until when Ken's girlfriend Saki gets pregnant. Ken tries to go straight, but Kazu makes a dangerous move that leads him to be in trouble. Shoji’s feature directorial debut won Japanese Cinema Splash Best Picture Award.

Director

SHOJI Hiroshi

Shoji graduated from Tokyo Film Center School of Arts. He works as a director, scriptwriter, and editor. Shoji’s short film, Ken and Kazu (2011) was invited to the International Film Festival Rotterdam. His feature directorial debut based on his short film with the same title won Best Film (Japanese Cinema Splash Competition) at Tokyo International Film Festival.
