Program Note
Brodie was an outcast until he meets a fellow metalhead Zakk. They form a band and found mysterious piece of sheet music said to grant Ultimate Power to whoever plays it. But the music also summons an ancient evil. Their classmates and family become inhabited by demonic forces, tearing out their own eyes and turning into psychotic murderers. It’s up to Brodie, Zakk to stop a force of evil for all of mankind.

Jason Lei Howden is a heavy metal loving horror fan. He has worked as a digital artist at Weta Digital for many years. His short film The Light Harvester screened at the New Zealand International Film Festival in 2014. Deathgasm is his first feature film and is autobiographical film. Except the demon parts.
