Program Note

King Yong joined the war with reinforcements from Japan. After king Pung was dead, he gathered rest of the army to flee to Japan. This story is the King Yong escaping by a ship to Japan with his son prince Ha and the daughter princesses Ahn and Lee of King Pung. This story is based on a classic Greek tragedy by Sophocles. A theme in Antigone is the right of the individual to reject society’s infringement on her freedom to perform a personal obligation.
