Program Note

11-year-old Tibor has only one friend: his old house robot T.I.M. When his father replaces T.I.M, Tibor manages to save it from destruction. Together they set out for the mythical robot maker Hector, who is rumored to live in the far north in an ancient lighthouse. During their adventure through unchartered territory, T.I.M. continues to fall apart. Tibor has to learn to say goodbye

Rolf VAN EIJK

Rolf VAN EIJK studied screenwriting and directing at the Utrecht School of Arts. His graduate film Heaven Above Holland(2007) won the HKU AWARD for most innovative graduate project and the Silver Mikeldi prize for Fiction Film in Bilbao. He has directed several short films including The Other(2009), Code One(2012), and so on. He makes his feature debut with T.I.M.-The Incredible Machine(2014).
