Unemployment is skyrocketing, businesses are going bust, and our relationships are failing. In this age of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s hard to even come across a part-time job. Everyone has probably wished, at least once, that someone would wave a magic wand and turn their failure into success. But what if your failures and bleak life are the result of bad luck that is stuck to your clothes? And what if you could chase away that misfortune and bring good luck into your miserable life? If that were the case, everyone would scramble to go out in search of that salvation.
Cue the superhero old woman. She’s a bit cold, but she loves people. She’s a softie with a tough exterior who cannot help but to save others.
This series provides a cathartic effect to viewers through the story of the old woman who turns failure into luck by puncturing acupoints in parts of clothing where the energy doesn’t flow. As the story unfolds, the structural imbalances that are pegged as the cause of failure for different generations are pointed out. My aim is to show how people’s failures don’t only come from their mistakes, and for that reason, people can always get back on their feet.
