Program Note
The Speaking Dead, an eight-part series, chronicles events spanning over a decade. In the past, there was a sexual assault case within the military and a series of incidents surrounding it. In the present, a bomb threat throws the heart of the city into chaos, followed by a murder. What connection could there be between these events? Events from two seemingly unrelated time periods gradually reveal their true shape and begin to connect, unfolding with the precision of an intricate detective novel. The series brings together characters familiar to the genre—a professor of forensic medicine, a profiler, a military prosecutor, a journalist, police officers, and prosecutors—while its commanding ensemble cast, including Han Suk-kyu, Jung Yu-mi, Yum Hye-ran, Kim Jun-han, Lee Hee-joon, Ryu Hye-young, and Yoon Je-moon, is equally impressive. This year, BIFAN will screen the first two episodes of the eight-part series.(KIM Hyung-seok)
