Program Note

After a couple’s baby boy is taken, the desperate mother learns of a way to bring him back. However, her husband begins to suspect that what she returned with isn't their son. The film's initial premise may seem formulaic, but Imposters, Caleb J. Phillips's feature debut, is an unpredictable sci-fi horror-thriller that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. Jessica Rothe and Charlie Barnett shine as the tormented parents, Marie and Paul, who will go out of their way to get their son in more ways than one. The film effectively combines the elements of a parallel universe, family dynamics, and the eventual bloody revenge to become the standout at this year's SXSW Midnighters.
