Program Note

The Kingdom of Abraxeon is under siege by the Dreadites, heralds of the long-dead sorcerer Nekromemnon. A gloriously gory remake of the 1983 Roger Corman cult classic of the same title, Steven Kostanski - a maestro of practical makeup - has created a soon-to-be B-movie classic, a medieval fantasy of sword and sorcery that perfectly balances the use of nostalgia (employing retro aesthetics such as the use of prosthetics and latex puppet creatures) with modern technology to bring out the film's full potential spirit as a campy, tongue-in-cheek midnight crowd pleaser.
