Program Note

Sung-min wants to be a Buddhist monk. He asks his friend, Jinwoo (a commercial film producer) to take him to Taewoong Temple, in which he becomes a monk. That day, Sung-min says “ I will leave home today.”to whomever he meets, expressing his will. However, he is rejected by the temple because of the age limit, which means he is too old to be a monk. To make the matters worse, The film which Jinwoo plans to make miscarries. Both of them are stuck. Thus, they set off for another journey.

KIM Sunghwan

He worked in PURN Production, the documentary community,  directing Donggang Flows and Kim Jongtae's Dream. After that, he became independent and directed Our Mountain. He moved his place of life to Wonju, Gangwon Province and worked as a broadcasting producer. Then, he started making films again, producing Graduation directed by Joo Hwan Park. Leave Home is coproduced with his alumni, Joon Ho Park and Im Gul Lee as his first full-length film.
