Program Note

Uno, who was born in the taxi driven by his father, gains the skills of communicating with cars. When his father’s taxi company gets into a crisis because the government’s policy bans cars over 15 years old, he gives up his dream in order to help his father. Uno’s power to converse with cars and his uncle’s efforts are successful, but taxis that gain consciousness begin to get out of Uno’s control.

Renata PINHEIRO

Renata Pinheiro is a Brazilian film director and visual artist. Superbarroco(2008), her first film, debuted at Cannes Film Festival Director’s Fortnight, 2009. Walt Disney Square(2009) won more than 50 awards all over the world. Her first feature, Love, Plastic and Noise(2013), was screened in several film festivals. She is also a distinguished Production Designer. Her latest work was for Lucrecia Martel’s Zama(2017).
