Sam is a peculiar young woman who visits an isolated mortuary run by an eccentric old man, asking to be hired for a vacant assistant position. After a brief interview, she challenges the funeral director to tell her the scariest stories he has faced while working at the place.  What follows are four tales covering the 50’s through the 80’s with sinister secrets. 

Written and directed by a newcomer Ryan Spindell, The Mortuary Collection is a mix of carefree gore and dark humor in imaginative short stories. This anthology delves into the ghastly endings of guiltless folks with deadly karma, which are united by the macabre frame of a timeless morgue with a creepy caretaker played by a ghoul-like Clancy Brown. Caitlin Fisher is excellent as Sam, a naïve-looking young woman with a hidden agenda that will knock your socks off. (Jongsuk Thomas NAM)
