Program Note

In this classic and much-emulated work of science fiction, a rescue mission to a distant planet discovers the two survivors of a spaceship that crashed 20 years before.

Program Note

When contact is lost with the planet Altair, a crew is sent to investigate. Two survivors are found: a scientist named Morbius and his daughter Altaira, who are served by a kind and multi-functional robot named Robby. A classic sci-masterpiece Forbidden Planet not only criticizes McCarthyism but also introduces Robby, the original lovable robot character. (KIM Bong-seok)
