Program Note

Mary Haines appears to have it all: a successful husband, a lovely daughter, and the support of a close circle of friends. When Mary learns her husband is cheating, her pals rally around her.

Program Note

This lm is only of the women, for the women, by the women, which doesn’t show any man at all while one hundred women appear in. The women’s actions are driven by the desires for male partners, however, men in this lm are just ‘disappeared media’ which link to the relations of women. Probably, this film might be able to be made because it was during the golden age of screwball comedy introducing powerful and adventurous women characters. (Jay SOHN)
