Program Note

Yeong-shim’s high school life gets ever more complicated as she develops a crush on her brother-in-law, while at the same time having feelings for her teacher. On top of this, she is trying to graduate while also dealing with her parents continuous squabbling.

Program Note

Based on the comics of the same name by Bae Geum-taek, Young-Shim explores adolescent girls’ issues, with an older lead character and incorporating various elements of popular culture of the time. The distinctive, mainly green color used, rhythmical editing and a rened taste for popular culture are noteworthy. Lee Mirye is the fourth female Korean lm director. (MO Eun-young)
