Synopsis
Kiia, a young sculptor, is haunted by the demons in her head. They are not entirely unwelcome - they serve as her inspiration and her muse. Kiia's father, though dead, still has an effect on her village. Her father was a priest and his views were so ultra-conservative and narrow-minded that they drove a young girl to suicide. The people of the village, after iscovering the truth, were so incensed that they lynched Kiia's father. The current priest of her village has a request-he wants the young woman to design a sculpture of Christ for the church. She complies, and as she is sculpting Jesus, she unwittingly calls upon the spirits of her dead father and other deceased villagers. Writer and director Atro Lahtela sculpts an interesting piece of his own by deftly combining elements of horror, the supernatural, romance and dark comedy.
