Is it ture that adoration of a loyalist becomes more and more fervent in front of the majestic appearance of an emperor? This film is a short critical biography about Kurosawa, a great master of film directors in Japan, who was called an ‘Emperor in the Japanese film world’. When we consider the scope of the impact he had on filmdom in the world, it is not surprising to know that eminent directors like Francis Coppola, Bernardo Bertolucci, John Woo. Criticixed in their own ways in Kurosawa and his films. < Kurosawa Akira: The Last Emperor > is a film arousing our interest in a film director and we can even feel somewhat tantalized in a short running time of 50 minutes.
