Program Note

As the recent war has brought great benefits to the nation, the media rush to praise the war. The boy, who was ignored by his peers because his father did not participate in the war, finds the scissors his father left and leaves to meet the craftsman who made them. It is a story about a boy who realizes the value of individual beliefs and passion in a totalitarian society, and the film was created by a Japanese animator with a long career, who received crowdfunding. MATSUURA Naoki

Born in Tokyo. Graduated with a degree in film studies from Musashino Art University. Naoki Mastsuura is a member of the Japan Animation Association. After working as a production assistant for film and animation production companies, he started working independently. He works on videos and animated productions from a wide range of media including television series, commercials, music videos, and exhibition and event videos. At Milan Expo 2015, he was responsible as the animation director, and he was awarded first place. In 2016, he launched a project for the original short animated film Fire Craft, which was completed in January 2021.
