Program Note
Laura is a busy doctor, who prioritizes her study of a medical specialty, leaving no time to care for her husband and children. One day, she is dragged to the dark room at the corner of the house and the only thing left for her in the dark was time. With a unique structure following the protagonist’s mind, which switches between reality and the unreal world, The Gloom maximizes the horror through the sharp sounds of string instruments.

Daniel VIQUEIRA
Daniel Viqueira studied Realization and Image at the A Coruña School of Image and Sound and the Master in editing and post production at the Trazos School in Madrid. Limbo(2018), his first short film, which was nominated at 140 festivals around the world, and was nominated for the Méliès d’or and qualified for the Goya Awards. The Gloom is his second short film at Direction.
