Program Note

Director Ridley Scott’s definitive version of a classic sci-fi adventure. In a world where human like bioengineered beings known as replicants exist, Deckard is a replicant hunter on a mission to eliminate four escaped replicants who have travelled to earth. However, he encounters a mysterious woman, leading him to question what it means to be human.

Program Note

LA, 2019. A blade runner named Rick Deckard hunts down Replicants, or cloned people, in a gloomy city where it always rains. The Replicants’ rebellion against their in-built limited life-span could be seen as a metaphor for humans challenging the gods. With Philip K. Dick’s novel as its origin, Ridley Scott’s stylized classic is a masterpiece of cyberpunk movies. (KIM Bong-seok)
