Program Note

Set in the deep South of the USA, a young woman named Zoe is held captive by her stepfater, a former Abu Ghraib prison guard and now a prolific serial killer. The stepfather uses Zoe as bait to attract new victims, eventually leading to the attention of a rookie cop and a vigilante..

A sleazy exploration of domestic-abuse and human behavior is combined with feminist vigilante justice in Julian Richards’ horror-thriller. This indie gem pays homage to the 70s grindhouse, horror-revenge titles with frightening performance by Costas Mandylor as Daddy, as well as Zemma Dallender as Zoe, a step-daughter and an accomplice to many of Daddy’s travesties.
