Popular K-Pop singer IU stars as a different character in four separate episodes made by four famous directors. A Netflix original movie that is to be first shown in the cinema at Bucheon Fantastic Film Festival.
Program Note
Persona consists of four different stories about desire and relationships. Four directors – Lee Kyoungmi, Yim Pilsung, Jeon Gowoon, and Kim Jongkwan– each use actress Lee Ji-eun to portray their persona; each directors’s distinctive features show through the actress using a different face in each episode. Persona forces the viewer to focus on Lee Ji-eun the actress, not the pop star IU as she is also known, and the exibility of her face reects on the directors. (Mo Eun-young)

Kim Jong-kwan graduated from the Seoul Institute of Arts and majored in film. He has produced numerous short films, including How to Operate a Polaroid Camera, which made him well-known. Since then, he directed feature films like: Come, Closer (2010), Worst Woman (2015) and The Table (2016).
