Program Note

A priest and a nun hold mercy killings to people who want to save the cure of souls. One day, a guy visits them and asks for staying in their church for one week.

Program Note

If you have a right to live your life, maybe you have the right to choose death. Priests and nuns who perform euthanasia to those who visit their church to be saved, help people choose between life and death. Koo Hye-sun’s first film, The Madonna, describes the ethical issues and inner contradictions of life and death through using the sensitive material of euthanasia and human’s mentality trying to challenge the realm of God. It definitely shows Koo Hye-sun’s talent as a director. She participated in directing, editing, scenarios, and music of this film. (MO Eun-young)
