Program Note

A woman who married in Korea from Vietnam comes to a beauty salon with her mother-in-law as soon as arrived. This movie raises questions about why Asian women who enter Korea through marriage to Koreans are forced to become Koreans from the moment they arrive.

Program Note

A Vietnamese woman who came to Korea to marry a middle-aged man goes to a beauty salon with her mother-in-law. Her mother-in-law is nagging her by doing her a perm that doesn’t suit her tastes and buying her outfits that doesn’t suit her age. The gossip and chatter of local ladies only increases the anxiety and sorrow of Loan. It captures the anxiety of a stranger who is thrown into a strange place, and shows the director’s detailed production ability in portraying the minds that are distant from each other and the unexplainable mentality behind it.
