Paris, where the dust of the dead came up to the height of four floors of the building due to the earthquake. Parents struggle to save their daughter from this situation, who can only survive in an enclosed capsule in the house.

Program Note

A disaster film genre which discovers ‘new disaster’ threatening humanity expands its realm to fine dust now. For Korean audiences who check ‘fine dust ’ before going out as a daily life, a disaster film set in Paris where dust flies in the wind , Just a Breath Away is new and realistic at the same time. One day, an earthquake has happened in Paris, uncontrollable dust rises from the underground and covers the whole city. Paris is thrown into turmoil because of an unprecedented disaster. Survivors evacuate to the highest place away from the dust of death to fill the air as four stories high. Mathieu and Anna barely take refuge in upper level but must rescue their little daughter locked in life-support equipment in downstairs encroached by the dust and gas. The struggle of the parents, who try to save their sick daughter in the ocean of the dust making our throat feel smoky by just watching it, follows the formulas of a disaster film orderly. The idea that the low-rise antique buildings in Paris are flooded by the sloshing dust makes definitely new disaster scenery. (PARK Hye-eun)
