Program Note

There is a huge bank, Eullenia, based in Bangkok. Marcus, who has a confident face, is the founder and CEO of Eullenia. He appears in the advertisement and said confidently, “Money brings happiness. Your happiness is the happiness of Eullenia.” Marcus has a secret behind his perfect looks. Every night he offers a deal to a poor girl who is wandering the streets of Bangkok in an attempt to make money. He persuades girls accept a dangerous exchange, money for their lives. The veteran actor Alec Newman, who acted in John Harrison’s Dune (2000), starring as Marcus, a calm yet crazed figure. This is not a drama that comes from the constant sacrifice of the girls, but the reversal that the stronger girl shows to the later half of the story. This film is directed by Paul Spurrier, who won the BIFAN 2016 NETPAC Award for The Forest (2015). (JEONG Ji-hye)
