Program Note

Two siblings inherit all the essentials for a good life: moonshine equipment and a pig. As they embark on their journey, business is good until a card shark arrives.

Program Note

brother earns money with the secret recipe for moonshine and pigs, the legacy of his father. The film, which was made in 2017, is a gray-and-white silent film, showing a 4:3 ratio scratchy screen. A series of stories in which two main characters are arrested and released after being caught by police for manufacturing moonshine and card games is monotonous, but cute like the early stories in this film. Finnish short story that seems to be influenced by Finnish black comedy director Aki Kaurismaki who is famous for picturing expressionless characters. (CHAE So-ra)
