Program Note
Carrie White, a shy and friendless teenager, is repressed by her domineering and religious mother. When she gets her first period, her superpower wakes up along with her blood. Carrie’s classmates make plans to harass her, but things take a wild turn.

He was born in 1940 in New Jersey. He attended Columbia University in New York and made his first film as a student. His career began to take off in the 1970s with Carrie (1976). The Untouchables (1987) made a box-office hit in 1987.
