Program Note

A martial arts movie set in the Koryo Period. Yoobaek (LEE Byunghun) the betrayer, Wolso (JEON Do-Yeon) who tries to stop him, and a young woman who sets out to revenge the betrayal and the death of her mother, all struggle together for their own reasons.

PARK Heung-sik

Born in 1965, Park Heung-sik graduated from Yonsei University and finished in the 8th class at the Korean Academy of Film Arts. I Wish I Had a Wife (2000) is his directorial debut film and his first collaboration with Jeon Do-yeon. He received Best New Director Awards at various film festivals for his debut film. He worked with Jeon again for My Mother, The Mermaid (2004) and Memories of the Sword (2015).
