Program Note

Based on real events, this psycho-thriller is set in the provincial Hungary of the 1960s. A psychotic killer continues to slaughter young women while an innocent man is wrongly accused. A determined detective arrives on the scene and soon becomes obsessed with the case.

Director

Arpad SOPSITS

Born in 1952, he is a well-known stage director. His first feature film is Shooting Gallery (1989). Additionally, his two other feature films, Videoblues (1992) and Abandoned (2000) were awarded in Locarno and Berlin Film Festival respectively. Also, many of his short films were screened at film festivals.
